Rs 10,000 in torn old 500 rupee note found in drain

NEW DELHI: Unidentified persons dumped old Rs 500 notes worth Rs 10,000 into the drainage system of Ratnasagar Society in Varacha area of Gujarat’s diamond city Surat. The currency notes were found covered in mud and dirt.

According to the eye-witnesses, the workers while cleaning the drainage system found pieces of currency notes covered in mud and dirt.

“The word spread like a wild fire and people instantly gathered there to see torn pieces of currency notes,” they said, adding, “When the pieces were gathered, it turned out that the value of currency notes thrown into drainage was around Rs. 10,000.”
